Do You Even Model?

Hey guys.

As you probably already figured out, I am an animator. But as an animator I have a limited amount of 3D models at my disposal. Well, close to none to be exact.

As a part of my YouTube Channel project I released this website for you to be able to see and download the stuff I am using in my videos and maybe even try to do them by yourself if you want. However, I remember the time when I was starting my career and wanted to learn 3ds Max, and CAT in particular because it was being used in a company I started to work for but there were no quality rigs to be found, done in CAT. Everything was either Biped, regular Max Bones or Maya. So I had to redone the rigs created in other “animation systems” to the CAT system with limited knowledge of how they should actually even be like. Because I remember these times very clearly I decided to unburden anybody interested in CAT from the same troubles and give rigs I do, to the animation community, for free.

I remember the time when I was starting my career and wanted to learn 3ds Max, and CAT in particular but there were no quality rigs to be found, done in CAT.

I am starting that with “Barry” character who is already downloadable here on the site. It’s one of my old character models which served the purpose of trying out to do facial rig completely in CAT which I didn’t find anywhere else to be done before. It kind of worked out and is quite usable even though it’s not perfect of course. But you can try to use it and decide that by yourself.

I Need A Little Bit Of Help

So with that said, I am now turning to you guys, my readers, viewers, subscribers. If you have any character 3D models of any sort that are laying somewhere on your HDD unused, maybe models that you tried to do when you were learning 3D modeling, even untextured, low-poly, etc ... Consider contacting me if you are willing to give that model to the community.

If you do, I would rig it and skin it, with CAT, and put it here on my site for all of you to download for free. Of course I would also commend you everywhere where I will use the model, this site, my videos, etc ... I can also provide a link to your portfolio, or your 3D model collection on some market or whatever you will provide me with, to give you some additional recognition.

I know that the community around my channel is very small so far. Even community around 3ds Max CAT system in general is very small compared to Maya animators for example (even though I think it is unjust, that CAT is so underused and underappreciated, but that’s the topic for another time), I still hope somebody who will read this will think of some old model he almost forgot about somewhere on his HDD and contact me through this site, by email, discord, twitter or facebook.

I have also put up donation options here on the site, so I can use the money from you guys, to pay some 3D artists to create those models for me if I won’t be able to find someone to collaborate with.
